Avocado Toast (Healthy, Easy, Quick)

Ingredients
  

  • 2 bread slices (I have used whole-wheat bread)
  • 1 ripe avocado
  • Salt to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • Lemon juice to taste
  • A pinch of red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Finely chopped coriander leaves

Instructions
 

  • Toast the bread slices until firm and golden brown. Set them aside.
  • Remove the pit from the avocado. Scoop out the flesh of avocado with a spoon and place in a bowl.
  • Add salt, freshly ground black pepper, and lemon juice.
  • Mash the avocado using a fork until it is smooth and everything is well combined. Then taste the mashed avocado and adjust the seasonings if needed.
  • Spread the mashed and seasoned avocado on top of your bread toasts.
  • Sprinkle some red pepper flakes and finely chopped coriander leaves.
  • Or top the avocado toast with the toppings of your choice. I have suggested the variations in the post.
  • Serve avocado toast immediately.

Notes

  1. Choosing good bread and perfectly ripe avocado are the keys to the best avocado toast.
  2. Keep the mashed avocado to a smooth consistency or with some chunks, as you prefer.
  3. Toast the bread until it is firm and golden brown so it can hold the mashed avocado well.
  4. Instead of red pepper flakes, you can also sprinkle some cayenne pepper or hot paprika.
