About Eggless Cinnamon Sugar Donuts
When it comes to baking some desserts like donuts, we may be skeptical about making them eggless. But believe me, these donuts are amazing; they are fluffy and moist.
We do not need any egg replacer or binding agent. All we need is some basic ingredients, readily available in our kitchen, and yummy donuts are ready.
They are so easy and quick to make; I would even call them instant donuts. These baked donuts are totally worth making at home.
I was actually making cinnamon sugar muffins, and I thought to pour some batter into the donut pan. I wanted to see if I can make donuts with this muffin batter. And I literally jumped when I got well risen, fluffy donuts.
And while my family like the muffins, they loved the donuts. So I decided to work on a baked donuts recipe. And once I was completely satisfied, I decided to share this eggless cinnamon sugar donuts recipe.
How to Make Eggless Cinnamon Sugar Donuts
This is one of the most super easy recipes. It is one bowl recipe, and we are going to mix everything into just one bowl.
- Add white vinegar into milk, mix and let it stand for five minutes.
- Whisk all the dry ingredients well into a large mixing bowl.
- Add melted butter, pure vanilla extract, and prepared buttermilk.
- Mix everything in the same bowl until well combined. Do not overmix.
- Fill the donut pan halfway and bake for 10 minutes.
- Remove from the oven, let it cool for 2 minutes.
- Once they are cool enough to handle, brush them with melted butter and dunk into the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
How to Fill the Batter into Donut Pan
- We can fill the pan with a spoon. However, I can show you the easiest way to ensure the clean and neat transfer of batter into the donut pan.
- Fill the batter into a large piping bag, no need for the tip. Or the even easier way is to fill the large Ziploc bag, cut it into the corner. And pipe the batter into the donut pan evenly, up to halfway. Do not overfill, as these donuts will rise well.
Eggless Cinnamon Sugar Donuts are
- Baked not Fried
- Light, Fluffy, and Cinnamony.
- Done in 20 Minutes.
- One Bowl Recipe
- No Mixer Needed

What if You Do Not Have Donut Pan
- Suppose you do not have a donut pan, no worries. Make muffins from this batter. You will be able to make 4-5 muffins with this recipe. And if you want to make more muffins, double the recipe.
- Grease the muffin pan and scoop the batter into the pan. Bake at 350° F for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Let the muffins cool in the pan for 2 minutes. Transfer the muffins onto a wire rack. And while they are still warm, brush the melted butter onto the top of the muffins and roll into the cinnamon-sugar mixture.

Ingredients
- 1 Cup all-purpose flour
- ¼ Cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon baking soda
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon cinnamon powder
- ½ Cup milk
- 1½ teaspoon white vinegar
- 2 tablespoon unsalted butter (melted)
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
For Topping:
- 3 tablespoon unsalted butter (melted)
- ¼ Cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon powder
Instructions
- Preheat the oven at 350° F. Grease the donut pan with non-stick oil spray or butter. Set aside.
- Add white vinegar into milk, mix and let it stand for 5 minutes. This will be homemade buttermilk.
- In a large mixing bowl, take all-purpose flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon powder. Whisk until everything is well combined.
- Add melted butter, vanilla extract, and prepared buttermilk. Mix with a spatula or wooden spoon until everything is just combined. Do not overmix. The batter will be thick.
- Spoon the batter into the donut pan, filling up to halfway. Or, pour the batter into a large piping bag (without tip) or a large Ziploc bag. Cut the corner and fill the donut pan. The donuts will rise very well, so do not overfill the pan.
- Bake the donuts at 350° F for 10 minutes or until edges are lightly brown.
- Remove from the oven and allow to cool for two minutes into the pan. Then transfer the donuts onto a wire rack.
- In a plate or bowl mix sugar and cinnamon powder. And in another bowl take the melted butter.
- Brush each donut lightly with butter on all the sides and then dunk into cinnamon-sugar mixture and coat the donut well on all the sides.
- Donuts are best served freshly made or on the same day. Keep the leftover in an airtight container for up to two days at room temperature.
Notes
- This recipe will yield 7-8 donuts. So after the baking first batch, you might have some batter to make one or two donuts. So continue baking with remaining batter and transfer those donuts onto a wire rack and continue with the topping.

I just made these and they were surprisingly light and I loved the cinnamon sugar topping. The only changes I made were adding nutmeg to the batter, didn’t add extra salt and used salted butter instead. Delicious especially if you’re out of eggs like I was 🙂

Delicious. I coated mine with coconut and because I did not have baking powder, substituted lemon juice. So good. I rolled mine into balls and made donut holes.
