Avocado Salsa is healthy, fresh, wholesome, satisfying, and very filling. This creamy, delicious salsa makes a perfect side dish, a great appetizer, or a quick, healthy snack.

This Avocado Salsa comes together quickly, and it can be prepared within five minutes. Also, the recipe is customizable by adding your choice of spices and herbs.
Easy-To-Make Avocado Salsa
The avocado is a superfood, one of the most nutrient-dense foods. It is not only the richest source of some nutrients and superfoods, but it is also super delicious.
I tasted this fruit for the first time only after moving to Canada, and I don’t remember when and how it became one of my favorites.
We love to use avocado in smoothies, salads, guacamole, sandwich spreads, and many other ways. And now, our new favorite is Avocado and Coriander Salsa with tortilla chips.
It’s a straightforward recipe with few and simple ingredients, but it’s worth making. Avocado and Coriander Salsa is creamy, rich, tangy with lime juice, spiced with green chili, and flavorful with fresh coriander leaves.
Ingredients
- Avocados
- Fresh Coriander Leaves or Cilantro
- Green Chili
- Lime Juice
- Salt and Pepper
All we need to make this delicious salsa is five minutes or less. It requires few ingredients but tastes fantastic and is addictive.
Because this salsa is primarily made with avocado, it is healthy and very filling. So we can enjoy even a small portion with great satisfaction.
Choosing Avocados
Look for avocados that are semi-ripe but still firm. Avoid using avocados that are mushy and stringy inside.
After cutting avocados, if you run into brown flesh, scoop those out and discard them.
Add More Veggies of Choice
- I like to keep this salsa simple to enjoy avocado with coriander and lime flavors to the fullest. But we can add more veggies to make it healthier and colorful.
- Adding tomatoes, preferably cherry tomatoes goes very well in this salsa. We can also add finely chopped green pepper or other colors of bell peppers.
- Adding grilled corn into avocado salsa will be fun and delicious too.
- If you want to use jalapeno pepper instead of green chili, go for it.
How To Make Avocado Salsa
- Making this salsa is easy and simple! There is no need for pre-preparation; in fact, this salsa needs to be prepared right before serving.
- So avoid the temptation of preparing avocado dices in advance. As we know, it browns immediately once we cut the avocados. And using browned chunks of avocado in the recipe is unappetizing.
- When you are ready to serve Avocado and Coriander Salsa, chop coriander leaves, then avocado, toss all the ingredients well into a mixing bowl, and serve.
Serving Suggestions
- My favorite way to have avocado salsa is with tortilla chips. I love to have it as a quick snack. Or because it’s very filling, I sometimes even have it as a light lunch.
- Avocado and Coriander Salsa is best served with taco and bean burritos.
- Avocado salsa is perfect as a side dish with a burrito bowl or with Mexican rice.
- I also make this salsa with my favorite Black Bean Quesadillas.
Storing Suggestions
- We can keep this salsa for a couple of days. Please place it in the airtight container and keep it in the fridge.
- Overtime, avocados will start browning; however, it will still be fine to eat. But I would suggest having it as fresh as possible.
Helpful Tips
- Use ripe but semi-firm avocados. Avoid the avocados that are mushy and stringy inside.
- If you see brown spots after cutting avocados, scoop them out and discard them. Do not use brown flesh in the salsa.
- If you don’t like spicy salsa, you can either avoid chili or remove the seeds and then add in the salsa. Instead of green chili, you can also use deseeded and chopped jalapeno pepper.
- If you add tomatoes, make sure to remove seeds to avoid too much liquid in the salsa.
- This salsa is best served fresh, so I will recommend making it right before serving.
