Tawa Paneer Masala (No Onion No Garlic)

Ingredients
  

  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • ½ teaspoon asafoetida / Hing
  • 2 teaspoon ginger paste
  • 2 Celery stalks finely chopped
  • 1 Small green pepper finely chopped
  • ½ Red bell pepper finely chopped
  • 3 Tomatoes finely chopped
  • 350 gms Paneer cut in cubes
  • Salt to taste
  • ¼ teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 2 teaspoon red chili powder or to taste
  • 2 teaspoon Pav bhaji masala or garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon dried fenugreek leaves
  • 2 teaspoon coriander leaves finely chopped
  • Lime juice to taste

Instructions
 

  • Heat tawa, skillet or frying pan and melt butter. Add cumin seeds and after it change color, add asafoetida and ginger paste.
  • Sauté for few seconds and add chopped celery. Let celery cook for a minute and then add chopped green and red peppers. Continue cooking on medium to high heat for 2-3 minutes.
  • Add chopped tomatoes, mix well, and then add salt, turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, red chili powder and pav bhaji masala. Mix well and continue cooking until tomatoes are soft and mushy, it will take about 5-6 minutes.
  • Now mash this mixture with potato masher until everything is well combined and tomatoes are almost mashed and mixture will be like thick gravy.
  • Add paneer cubes into it and mix well. Add salt to taste, dried fenugreek leaves and coriander leaves, mix well. Cook it for 3-4 minutes until paneer and tomato mixture combines well. Squeeze some lime juice, mix and serve hot.
